Cake Ingredients:

1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
·
1 package yellow cake mix (with pudding in it)
·
3 eggs
·
1/3 cup vegetable oil
·
½ cup Bacardi dark rum
Glaze Ingredients:
·
¼ lb. butter (1 stick)
·
¼ cup water
·
1 cup granulated sugar
·
¼ cup Bacardi dark rum
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees, grease and flour 10” tube
pan or Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts in bottom of pan. Mix all ingredients together.
Pour batter over nuts. Bake 1 hour. Cool. Invert onto serving plate. Prick top,
spoon and brush glaze evenly over top and sides.
Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and
sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in rum.
Optional: Decorate border with sugar frosting or
whipped cream.
This recipe was copied from an old xerox my aunt had.
It was her husband's favorite cake.
